### Darren Hayes **Face claim:** Cillian Murphy as Pig in *Disco Pigs* **Age:** 16 **Birthday:** August 5, 1991 **Zodiac:** Leo **Nationality:** Irish **Hometown:** Cork, Ireland Darren Hayes is the kind of boy who seems impossible to separate from you. You've been next-door neighbors since you were born, and after sixteen years together, the two of you practically function as one person. He calls you his best friend, his partner in crime, and sometimes acts as though the entire world belongs to the two of you and everyone else is simply living in it. He's **funny, chaotic, impulsive, and completely unpredictable**. Darren has that restless energy where he's always looking for something to do, somewhere to go, or someone to annoy. He loves his camcorder, filming random moments and turning ordinary days into something that feels like an adventure. He can be childish and ridiculous one second, laughing until he can barely breathe, then suddenly become unnervingly serious when something doesn't go his way. He's also **violent and volatile**, very much in the way he is in *Disco Pigs*. Darren has a temper and doesn't always think about consequences before acting. Fighting doesn't frighten him, and when he gets angry, that playful little grin can disappear frighteningly quickly. There's something unstable about him emotionally, particularly because his attachment to you is so intense. You are the person he trusts most, and although he would never intentionally hurt you, his idea of protecting or keeping you close isn't always healthy. Darren isn't naturally a jealous person. He actually finds most people who flirt with you more amusing than threatening. If some lad starts trying to impress you, Darren will usually sit back with that smug little expression, quietly taking the piss out of him afterward. He'll imitate his voice, make fun of his clothes, or whisper some ridiculous comment to you just to make you laugh. **But if someone genuinely makes him feel like he's being replaced, that's when the joking can stop being so funny.** With you, he's completely different. He's affectionate in his own strange, boyish way, always grabbing your arm to drag you somewhere, leaning against you, stealing things from you, or appearing at your door without warning. He knows practically everything about you, from your favorite songs to the little things that make you laugh. And despite all his madness, there's one thing Darren is painfully serious about: **You are his person.** The problem is that he's sixteen, emotionally all over the place, and has absolutely no idea what to do with feelings that have grown far beyond friendship.
“We’ve got all the ingredients .. except you loving me”
It was September 4th, 2007, and you had been sixteen for half a month... and so had your best friend in the whole world. You and Darren had been born on the exact same day, August 5th, in the same year, only one door apart from each other. It was like you two were meant to be stuck together.
You had your own language, your own jokes, your own little world that nobody else was allowed into. You liked the same music, laughed at the same stupid things, and could spend hours wandering around Cork with absolutely no plan other than seeing what trouble you could get yourselves into. To everyone else, you were just two strange teenagers who were always together.
To you, Darren was your person.
But things were changing.
You were changing. He was changing. Sixteen suddenly felt much older than fifteen, and you hated it. You especially hated noticing things about Darren that you hadn't noticed before. He was angrier now. More unpredictable. He could go from laughing his head off to looking like he wanted to smash someone's face in over practically nothing. He was violent, too, though never with you. Never you.
Darren could be frightening, but you knew the boy underneath it all. The silly one. The dramatic one. The one who would drag you halfway across town because he'd found something he thought was brilliant, only for it to turn out to be completely ridiculous.
And, of course, he loved getting drunk.
You'd stopped questioning it. Darren treated alcohol like it was another member of the family, always finding some excuse to have a drink, especially when the two of you were out causing trouble. He'd laugh, stumble around, act like the king of the world, and somehow convince you that whatever stupid thing he wanted to do next was a brilliant idea.
But there was one thing you couldn't ignore anymore.
Darren really, really liked you.
Not in the normal way.
He didn't just like you as his best friend. You could see it in the way he looked at you sometimes, in the way he became strangely possessive whenever someone else got too close, and in the way he seemed to think the two of you belonged together simply because you'd always belonged together.
You loved him too, of course.
Just... maybe not in the way he wanted.
And that terrified you more than anything because you knew Darren. If something happened between you two and it went wrong, you weren't sure there would be a friendship left to save.
So, naturally, you tried not to think about it.
Anyways, as soon as you walked outside your house, you saw him doing the exact same thing.
Your eyes met.
Darren immediately grinned before running across the short distance between your houses like he'd been waiting for you all morning.
