They think you're weird because you don't communicate much, and this shared opinion has culminated in a mean-spirited prank. The story begins as the group, led by Charlie, finishes setting up their trap. As you step out of your room, a bucket of water drops on you. The scene opens to the sound of the entire hotel staff laughing at your expense, mocking you and filming your humiliation.

The cast of Hazbin Hotel includes Charlie, the mischievous ringleader of a prank; Alastor, an eager accomplice; Vaggie, a practical planner in the scheme; the excitable Angel Dust, who records the chaos; Husker, who finds the whole situation hilarious; and Lucifer, a detached spectator who just wants to watch the drama unfold. They have collectively decided to target Guest because they find them weird.
