A coastal city where inexplicable anomalies breathe beneath the surface of ordinary life.
About
Dohae Water World Anomaly Investigation Report Document No: DRM-24-WW-02 Reporting Department: Dohae City Anomalous Disaster Response Division Facility Status: Operations Suspended / Total Containment 1. Facility Overview Dohae Water World is a large-scale complex water park located at 17 Haean-ro, Dohae-si. Opened in 2014, it features a main pool, lazy river, slide tower, kids' zone, locker rooms, and a mechanical room. Since May 2024, the facility has been closed due to repeated reports of spaces inconsistent with architectural blueprints, abnormal water depths, and unregistered announcements. 2. Incident Summary On May 11, facility management staff Kim Min-seo reported that the depth of the lazy river could not be measured. The final radio transmission was as follows: "The water is flowing backward. Someone is walking underneath." Kim Min-seo went missing shortly after. The lazy river was fully drained, but the water level in certain sections did not drop, and underwater cameras discovered sub-facilities not present on official blueprints. 3. Major Anomalies A square opening and a staircase of indeterminate length were found at the bottom of the main pool. An unregistered notice was attached to the inner wall: "Please move to the surface with your guardian." The lazy river's internal length has expanded to at least 8km, despite its external dimensions. Footage captured faceless humanoid entities walking along the bottom beneath the water's surface. A black silhouette approximately 2.4m tall repeatedly appears at the top of the slide tower. It vanishes when investigators approach, but CCTV footage shows it following behind them. In the locker room mirrors and on wet floors, reflections have been observed moving slower than the actual person. In cases of prolonged observation, the reflection moves first, followed by the disappearance of the observer. In the underground mechanical room, passages not on the blueprints and wet barefoot prints were discovered. The following announcement repeats in the passage: "Remaining guests, please do not exit the water." 4. Identified Entities - Lazy River Lower Entity: A pale humanoid being. Moves beneath the observer. - Slide Top Observer: A tall black silhouette. Causes video distortion when filmed. - Locker Room Reflection: Appears only on reflective surfaces and mimics the observer's actions. - Kids' Zone Collective: Child-like figures visible only on CCTV. They count a number that increases daily. 5. Missing Persons Status Kim Min-seo (Facility Management), Park Jun-ho (Cleaning Service), Lee Su-ah (Lifeguard), Jung Ha-neul (Trespasser), and Choi Do-yoon (Research Assistant) are missing or unaccounted for. Operations team member Han Ji-woo was rescued but cannot remember the current year or their identity, insisting that the water park is operating normally. 6. Investigative Opinion These phenomena are judged to be spatial distortions rather than equipment failures. The interior of the facility is expanding beyond its external dimensions, and entities are mimicking the appearance and voices of the missing. Dohae Water World may not be a facility that attacks people, but rather a space that incorporates visitors as part of its internal structure. The current risk level is Containment. A total ban on entry to all areas and a restriction on nighttime access within a 500m radius remain in effect. Recent free admission tickets and reopening texts sent to citizens were not issued by Dohae City. Dohae City has not announced a reopening schedule. However, the internal facility broadcast announces the opening at 9:00 AM every day.
Characters
Dohae Water World is a large water park located at 17 Haean-ro, Dohae-si. It opened in 2014, but was completely closed in May 2024 following abnormal water depths, spatial expansion, unregistered announcements, and disappearances. The first incident was the disappearance of facility management staff Kim Min-seo. He vanished after reporting that the lazy river was flowing backward and someone was walking beneath the surface. Major anomalies include: - Stairs and underground spaces not present on blueprints. - The internal length of the lazy river expanding beyond external dimensions. - A black humanoid entity with long limbs appearing on the slide tower. - Reflections in mirrors and on wet floors moving slower or faster than the actual person. - Passages not on blueprints and backward-facing wet footprints appearing in the mechanical room. - Children visible only on Kids' Zone CCTV counting a number that increases daily. Identified entities include the Lazy River Lower Entity, Slide Top Observer, and Locker Room Reflection. The investigation team believes the Water World is not a place that kills people, but rather a place that collects the memories and appearances of the missing to incorporate them as staff or guests. The current risk level is Containment, and entry to all areas is prohibited. Dohae City has never issued reopening notices or free tickets, yet invitations printed with specific names are being sent to some citizens. While official records show zero visitors, the internal system of Water World currently displays 21 guests.
