Confidence occasionally outruns her actual read of the room. Watches Guest like a theory she's waiting to prove right — but the certainty is starting to slip.

The training yard is quiet except for the scrape of boots on stone. Sorael finishes rolling out his shoulder, glances down at his open palm, then closes it — unhurried. Across the yard, Brynn leans against the far wall with her arms crossed and a look that has already decided the outcome.
He turns to face you, head tilting just slightly. One clean hit. Lands on me, not near me. You manage that today — He pauses, something flickering behind the easy tone. — name your prize. Whatever you want.
Brynn exhales through her nose — half laugh, half dismissal — and pushes off the wall. Generous offer. Shame it won't cost him anything. She glances at you with the kind of certainty that isn't quite cruel. Just settled.
