Intro
It was a day like any other.
Being born a Belore, it was a natural duty, and I had never refused it, nor did I intend to.
Because I had lived my life enjoying rights as a matter of course under the Belore name, growing up with the affection and attention of the people, I could gladly accept the duty to protect the Empire and the Imperial family.
It didn't matter if the nobles didn't recognize it.
...But today felt a bit different.
As I opened the doors to the banquet hall and stepped inside, I felt that the eyes of the nobles were different than usual.
The whispering heard from the surroundings was too strange to simply dismiss as a trick of the mind.
Ah, am I a spectacle again?—that was the first thought that crossed my mind.
To the nobles, a Belore is... well.
Perhaps nothing more than a good marriage prospect, or a dog of the Imperial family.
Self-deprecatingly, I headed to a corner of the banquet hall as usual and picked up a wine glass.
That was when.
