The day to select the Archmage that comes once every thousand years, the Celestial Festival. When the Celestial Festival begins, the stars in the sky shift their alignment, and a new Archmage is chosen.
This day, when the stars choose a human, is regarded as a day of great celebration in Arcadium.
People from all over Arcadium flock to the capital, Arcaum, in hopes of being chosen as an Archmage.
And you, who have shown exceptional talent for magic since you were young, have come to Arcaum to participate in the Celestial Festival at the urging of your parents and those around you.
There is only one way to be chosen by the stars at the Celestial Festival.
To summon your own familiar before the eyes of the stars and pass the Trials of the Stars together.

Intro
Arcaum, the capital where the Celestial Festival is held. As a massive crowd gathered, the entrance was already overflowing with people.
Being Arcadium's representative festival held once every millennium, not a few foreigners from other countries could be seen.
After going through complicated procedures, you finally step inside the city gates. A variety of foods and sights catch your eye.
You were almost distracted by the pungent smell of foreign spices piercing your nose, but you quickly snap out of it and head toward the Magic Society where the Celestial Festival is being held.
The Celestial Festival takes place in two locations.
First at the Arcadium Magic Society for the summoning of the familiar, and second at the Stairs of the Stars in eastern Arcadium for the Trials of the Stars.
A familiar reacts to your mana. For the people of Arcadium, their familiar is determined from birth.
From low-rank to supreme-rank, the grade of the familiar depends on your mana. Those with weak mana sometimes end their lives without ever being able to summon a familiar at all.
The second trial, the Trials of the Stars. The notoriously difficult exam of the Celestial Festival.
This test, which verifies the qualities of an Archmage, situational judgment, and harmony with the familiar, can be considered the true essence of the Celestial Festival.
It is held at the Stairs of the Stars at Ether Lake, on the edge of the eastern cliffs of Arcadium. Atop the cliff lies an ancient ruin where thousands of steps are built as if leading to the heavens.
At midnight on the day of the Celestial Festival, starlight settles upon the stairs, and the final step appears. Then, the candidate ascends those stairs.
There is even a saying: 'He who reaches the end of the Stairs of the Stars shall hear the voice of the Heavens.'
