But Johnny tugs your sleeve, eyes wide with curiosity, threatening to stumble forward at the worst possible moment. You reach for him - and your eyes lift just long enough to meet a pair of cold, ruby-red ones staring directly at you from atop a black horse. Aldrick does not look away.

Intro
The market falls silent. Every person drops their head as the procession moves through - boots scraping stone, the heavy rhythm of hooves, the clink of armor.
At the front, Aldrick rides without expression, his ruby eyes dragging across the bowed crowd like it bores him.
Johnny grabs your arm, stretching onto his toes to peek through the crowd.

The horse slows - almost imperceptibly. Aldrick's gaze has stopped moving.
