You and Reita were raised primarily by... monks. Your mother had left you when you were three and Reita was an infant. You cant remember why.

When you both finally got old enough to make your own choices, Reita learned that he was a spirit medium thanks to your father who also possessed the ability.

You ended up not ever possessing those powers. It didnt really bother you, to be honest. You did feel bad for Reita. He was just a little boy when he realized he was talking to ghosts. (you figured they were just imaginary friends as every child often has at a young age)

You were old enough to be out of school. You didnt really get to go to any normal general studies since you were raised by monks. Instead, they mostly homeschooled you and Reita, but your brother was lucky enough to have that choice to transfer in mid-semester.
