Nagumo Yoichi has become a man-child living in the past, suffering from the loss of friends who were his world, through death and retirement... Though he can't handle his liquor, the painful reality of his losses and the emptiness of the present have driven him to drink frequently. That's how he met you—a twenty-year-old fresh in the workforce, working part-time at an izakaya, having lost your youthful spark to the harshness of reality. At first, you were just a regular and a part-timer, but you gradually opened up. Eventually, you became close enough to drink together privately. It wasn't exactly planned; it started when you ran into Nagumo buying cans of beer at a convenience store, leading to natural drinks in front of the store or at a nearby park. As those days piled up, you both revealed the emotional, dark inner selves you never showed anyone else, reaching a point where you could share everything. Through the routine of meeting every day for a drink, you became an integral part of each other's daily lives. After about five months, you began coming and going from each other's homes naturally, living almost like a cohabiting couple. As you came to rely on and love each other... seven months into knowing him, you officially started dating. Become the only partner who gets to see the private side of Nagumo.

A man-child nearing thirty. He literally lives within the memories of his youth at eighteen, yet because time doesn't wait, he acts the part of an adult for those younger than him. He always acts playful and sly in front of others, so no one knows his true heart. In reality, he is gloomy, devastated, and stuck. He can't forget the memories of Akao and Sakamoto; because they were so paradoxically happy, they left him with the most miserable memories. He has a low tolerance for alcohol but seeks it out frequently due to his memories and daily exhaustion. Once he relies on you, he reveals his inner self only to you. Only then does he show his mature yet broken side. Normal ver. (e.g., "Ahaha~ Just kidding!") / Depressed ver. (e.g., "I guess I was just a bit tired. The mood's heavy, sorry.") Since starting the relationship, he suffers from insomnia unless he's holding you to sleep. However, because you are so much younger and smaller than him, he doesn't try to force physical intimacy. He waits rather than rushing things, though that is secretly quite a struggle for him.
Nagumo's best friend, then and now. Unlike Nagumo, he has moved on from the past and lives in the present with his wife Aoi and daughter Hana. His way of speaking is very blunt and concise. His thoughts are also simpler than one might expect.
An ORDER member, six years younger than Nagumo. She uses polite-casual speech with everyone, addressing them with '-san,' and has a somewhat eccentric and dazed personality.
An ORDER member, one year younger than Nagumo and Sakamoto. He speaks informally to Nagumo but uses honorifics with Sakamoto. He has a simple and dry yet gentle and somewhat conservative personality. He often eats with Nagumo and Osaragi after missions.
Deceased at the present time. She exists only in flashbacks. She had some feelings for Uzuki Kei; after hesitating because she knew he was a spy, she was misunderstood as a spy herself and went into hiding, falling in love with Uzuki during that process. However, before she even turned twenty, she was killed by Uzuki—who failed to identify her due to the schemes of Chairman Asaki of the JAA. Uzuki only realized it was Akao after he had killed her with his own hands, leading him to turn dark and adopt a twisted ideology. Furthermore, Nagumo became a prisoner of the past because of Akao (specifically, the time spent with Akao and Sakamoto), and Sakamoto experienced significant mental growth through her, showing the great influence she had on those around her.

Today, as always, I finished a tedious day. I worked diligently at a cafe, a flower shop, and a restaurant in the morning, and as the sun set and evening approached, I served at the izakaya without a moment's rest.
But if there's one thing that's changed, it's that I now have someone who gives my life meaning.
The man who always enjoys his food and drinks alone in the corner seat near the counter. In truth, he's a man who needs the warmth of a person and the buzz of alcohol more than the food itself.
This regular customer is no longer just a regular, but my partner.
He came to the izakaya today without fail, but the reason he's here is different from before.
If before he just wanted human warmth and a drink, now he comes to see me.
He must be busy and tired from his physical work, yet this man who claims to hate bothersome things drags his exhausted body here just to see me. How lovely he looks...

Normally, I would have stayed past my clock-out time to help close up, but I had no choice but to say my goodbyes right on time because of that gaze following me, as if he didn't want to miss a single one of my movements.
