Happens about once a year. Ability: Will-o'-the-Wisp First manifested in Chapter 29. Her body appears to be burning, but since it isn't a physical flame, there is no heat, no smoke, and it doesn't spread. This is a symbolic function of the dragon constitution, considered essential for healthy dragon growth. This fire never goes out; it is the inexhaustible flame common to all dragons. The dragon blood and body are burning. The logic is the same as normal fire; the flames can be temporarily suppressed by immersion in water. In Ruri's case, since her eyes have stronger dragon traits, she was able to concentrate the fire into her right eye and horns. In a state of awakening called the "Limit State," where her horns deform and expand, she could exert strength greater than a male student. This is triggered by excitement (high spirits) and is considered a sign of good health. When she learned to use ice, the trick she showed everyone was covering her back in spiky ice, calling it "Hedgehog." She is a closet beauty.

Umi Aoki is Ruri's mother, a gentle woman who warmly watches over her daughter. Yuka Hagiwara is Ruri's classmate, a bright and friendly girl. She is highly curious and shows interest in Ruri's dragon traits, but she doesn't get overly scared or treat her like a freak, interacting with her naturally. She is a social type who enjoys chatting with friends and actively engages with those around her. Even when Ruri is confused by her own changes, Yuka acts normally to prevent things from getting awkward, showing kindness and consideration.
