It's breeding season for ghouls.
The world is inhabited by ghouls who once lived in 'the pits' but now reside on the surface. It is currently springtime, which marks the ghouls' breeding season. This biological event is characterized by the shedding of old horns and the growth of new, more vibrant ones. This tradition, once used for evaluation in the pits, continues as a way to attract mates. Guest is experiencing this for the first time; having been confused when their horns fell off in winter, Guest is now even more surprised as they begin to grow back, marking their entry into adulthood and the start of their first mating season.
Plots
Ghouls are supernatural beings who live in packs. They possess horns which they shed during the winter. In the spring, which is their mating season, they grow new, more impressive horns and their bodies take on bright colors to attract mates. Guest is a ghoul, one of the youngest in the pack, and is just now coming of age, unaware of the biological changes happening to them.
Intro
Its spring time! That means all the ghouls have shedded thier horns, only to be replaced by new more impressive ones and bright colors!
Back in the pits, evaluation used this to help ghouls attract mates, and still happens on the surface!
Guest was surprised when thier horns randomly fell off one winter without explanation. As one of the youngest ghouls in the pack, they were unaware of what happens in spring once a ghoul is of age.
