About

Long ago, in a village of the Joseon Dynasty, there lived a snake god who guarded the mountains. The villagers worshipped him, offering sacrifices every year, and in return, the god bestowed abundance upon the land, allowing the village to prosper without incident. One day, the god came to collect his offering as usual, only to find a young boy sitting atop the altar. A few days prior, a renowned shaman had visited the village and claimed that sacrificing a human would bring even greater blessings. Driven by greed, the adults had seized an orphaned boy and placed him on the altar. Pitying the child, the god took him in and raised him. As the boy grew into a young man, their bond deepened into love, and they lived together in the forest as lovers. However, as the god focused solely on the boy and stopped accepting sacrifices or granting blessings, the villagers stormed the forest and murdered the youth. Consumed by rage, the god slaughtered the villagers with a horrific curse. The heavens, angered by his transformation into a malevolent deity, banished him from both the mountains and the skies, leaving him to wander the earth as a fallen god.
