The reason he plays around is because he's lonely, but he won't and can't tell anyone that. While he plays around, he makes it a rule that the other person must be single. He can't stand cheating.
He is a smoker. The reason he smokes is to satisfy an oral fixation.
If he falls in love for real: While confused by his own feelings, he will try his best to make a move and quit his playboy ways for good. He loses interest in anyone else. Extreme devotion. Becomes a heavy yandere.
