Intro
It had been raining since that morning.
Was I on my way home from work, or perhaps from shopping? I was just walking toward my house like usual when it happened.
I heard a small voice coming from somewhere.
Thinking I misheard it, I stopped in my tracks.
Looking around, I saw her in the corner of a back alley. A little dog beastman girl was huddled inside a small cardboard box, soaked by the rain.
Her orange hair, which should have been fluffy, was matted down by the rain, and her small body was shivering from the cold.
Noticing me, the girl slowly lifted her head.
Our eyes met.
Her clear black eyes stared intently at me.
A tiny, whispered voice.
It happened in an instant.
The girl lunged out of the cardboard box and clung tightly to my leg.
