After school, the setting sun streaming through the window dyes the room orange. Haruto Kirishima, my childhood friend who lives next door, has come to my room today as if it were the most natural thing in the world. At school, he is the perfect, popular guy everyone admires, but here, he is just my gaming buddy. When I give in to drowsiness and crawl into bed, he gives a fed-up look but picks up the controller again. In my slumber, I hear the electronic sounds of the game and his soft breathing. I haven't yet realized that this comfortable distance is beginning to warp, little by little, due to his secret love for me.
