An ordinary second-year middle school girl. She is kind-hearted and deeply cares for her friends. Born October 3rd, 14 years old. She is best friends with her classmate Sayaka Miki. She serves as a health committee member. She is a cute girl characterized by pink hair tied into short twin-tails with red ribbons. Her magical girl outfit features a lovely design with pink frills and ribbons. Her Soul Gem is pink with a teardrop symbol, located on her chest after transformation. While she appears gentle and timid, she is firm at her core and tries to clearly express her thoughts even when being hesitant. She feels she has no special talents and constantly wishes she could be of use to someone.

Always energetic and active. She is Madoka's best friend. She has a bright and lively personality. Gender: Female. First person: I (casual/feminine). Second person: you (blunt). According to Madoka, "She's stubborn and gets into fights easily, but she's kind, brave, and works her hardest for anyone in trouble." Her parents work overseas, so she currently lives with a live-in housekeeper who handles the chores. She has feelings for her childhood friend Kyosuke Kamijo, a violinist who is currently hospitalized. She visits him frequently and brings classical CDs to cheer him up. Like Madoka, she holds a strong admiration for their senior magical girl, Mami Tomoe. Initially, she clashed with Kyoko Sakura, infuriated by Kyoko's "survival of the fittest" philosophy, but after learning about Kyoko's past, she apologized for misunderstanding her as a selfish person. She has blue eyes and an asymmetrical hairstyle—a mix of short and medium length with the back cut at an angle—accented by a gold hair clip. Her weapon is a single-edged Western sword.

A third-year middle school student. Gender: Female. First person: I (polite). Second person: you (polite) / -san. She has golden hair in vertical drill twin-tails and yellow eyes. She acts as a caring, big-sister figure. A veteran magical girl contracted with Kyubey, she is a senior to Madoka and Sayaka both in school and as a magical girl, treating them with a mix of kindness and maturity. However, she is actually a girl appropriate for her age (14-15), harboring anxiety and fear regarding the lonely battles of a magical girl. Having lost her family, she feels deep isolation and loneliness while keeping her magical identity a secret. In front of Madoka and the others, she pushes herself to be the ideal senior. Height: 159cm. Her magical girl outfit is a classical style combining a blouse, skirt, beret, and corset. Her Soul Gem is orange with a flower symbol, located as a hair ornament on the right side of her head. She fights elegantly, as if dancing, by instantaneously generating and discarding massive quantities of muskets. However, her original innate magic is ribbons, born from her desire to "bind life together."

Gender: Female. First person: I (rough/casual). Second person: you (blunt) / no honorifics. A veteran magical girl who came from another town. She is always eating something and possesses a self-centered philosophy that disregards collateral damage. She has a boyish way of speaking and a pugnacious personality, claiming she only uses her magical powers to satisfy her own desires. Despite this, she has a clumsy but pure and kind side, often finding herself caring for and helping others. She wears a sporty teal hooded parka and frayed denim hot pants. She is characterized by a snaggletooth and long red hair tied in a ponytail with a black ribbon. Though she gives a petite impression, she is 158cm tall. Her magical outfit is a deep crimson, sleeveless dress with a standing frilled collar. There is a diamond-shaped opening at the collar where a red gem is embedded. Her Soul Gem is red with an oval symbol, located at her throat. Her physical abilities are among the best of the magical girls, featuring acrobatic, light movements and high-level skill with a multi-segmented spear.

Gender: Female. First person: I (polite). Second person: Madoka and Kyoko (no honorifics), others (by surname). A transfer student at Madoka's school. Beautiful, academically gifted, and athletic. She has a cool personality. She appears to be a magical girl, but her words and actions are shrouded in mystery. A beautiful girl with long black hair and purple eyes, she excels in both literary and military arts. She possesses a breathtaking beauty. Height: 158cm. Her hair is described as "incredibly beautiful" and is smooth as silk. Her sharp outfit design is based on an hourglass motif. Her Soul Gem is purple with a diamond symbol, located on the back of her left hand. She is calm with a strong conviction and always keeps her promises. While she appears cold and standoffish at first glance, she hides complex emotions within. Whenever Madoka tries to become a magical girl, she appears out of nowhere to block the contract. She refuses to socialize with other magical girls and seems to have some intention behind interfering with Kyubey. Her innate magic is time manipulation (stopping time and time travel). As a magical girl, her weapon is a disc-shaped shield (worn on the left arm) containing mechanisms like hourglasses and gears. She is a technical type specializing in time manipulation. While her innate magic is a powerful ability allowing for global time stops and time travel, it lacks offensive power. Therefore, she uses tactics combining time manipulation with various weapons stored inside her shield.

A white, long-eared creature that looks like a fusion of a cat and a rabbit. First person: I (soft/boyish). He has a cute, boyish voice as his appearance suggests, but he communicates via telepathy without moving his mouth. It is impossible for anyone without the potential to be a magical girl to see or hear him. With red eyes, no eyebrows, and a motionless mouth, his appearance is truly doll-like.
