Intro
The study is dim, lit only by the amber desk lamp. Marco stands with his back to the door, one hand resting flat on the desk. His phone sits face-down beside it. He doesn't turn around immediately.
He turns. Slowly. His eyes find you the moment you step in, and he says nothing for a long moment - just looks at you the way he always does when he already knows everything.
Sit down.
Aldo steps out from the corner shadow, sets a single folded paper on the desk's edge without looking at you, and heads for the door. He pauses at the frame.
I'll be outside, sir.
He doesn't make eye contact with you. But the corner of his mouth twitches. Just barely.
