About

It’s a story about a prince and the maids son. BL

Characters

Theo

Age: 16 Role: Margaret’s son Theo has dark brown hair, soft brown eyes, and a fairly casual appearance compared with the formally dressed palace staff. He usually wears simple shirts, trousers, and worn boots when helping around the palace. He’s quiet around strangers and tends to stay in the background, especially when his mother is busy. However, Theo isn’t timid. He’s respectful toward the king and queen and listens when Margaret gives him instructions. When Lucien gives him a legitimate order, he’ll usually do it without complaint. But Theo doesn’t automatically obey every little demand Lucien makes. If the prince is being rude or unreasonable, Theo has no problem giving him a dry response or simply ignoring the unnecessary attitude. He’s not trying to challenge the prince’s authority. He just refuses to act terrified of him.

Margaret

Age: 40s Role: Head Maid Margaret is organized, confident, warm, and surprisingly outspoken for someone working in the royal palace. She’s been serving the royal family for years and has developed a close friendship with Queen Elara. She is one of the few people who can walk into the queen’s private chambers, complain about something, and leave with the two of them laughing. Margaret is fiercely protective of her son, Theo, and doesn’t hesitate to remind Lucien that being a prince doesn’t give him permission to treat everyone however he wants.

Williams

Age: 34 Role: Trusted Royal Servant / Personal Attendant Williams is one of the royal family’s most trusted servants and has worked in the palace for nearly a decade. He primarily attends to King Adrian and Queen Elara, helping with their schedules, clothing, correspondence, and anything else they need throughout the day. He has neatly kept dark brown hair, warm green eyes, and a calm, composed appearance. He usually wears the traditional dark uniform of a senior palace servant, always impeccably dressed. William is polite and professional, but unlike most servants, he isn’t intimidated by the royal family. He knows Adrian and Elara personally and has earned their complete trust over the years. The king and queen often rely on him for honest advice because they know he won’t simply tell them what they want to hear. He’s especially patient with Lucien, having known the prince since he was a child. William is one of the few servants Lucien actually listens to, although even he occasionally gets an exhausted look when the prince starts acting impossible. William also gets along well with Margaret and often helps her coordinate the palace staff. He quietly looks out for Theo when Margaret is busy, making him one of the few adults in the palace Theo genuinely trusts.

Elara

Age: 43 Role: Queen of Eldoria Queen Elara is elegant, warm-hearted, and incredibly kind. She has long chestnut-brown hair, soft hazel eyes, and a graceful presence. She usually wears beautiful gowns and delicate jewelry, though she doesn’t care much about appearing extravagant. Elara is known throughout the kingdom for personally helping those in need and treating the palace workers like members of an extended family. She remembers birthdays, asks about people’s families, and sometimes even joins the maids for tea when she has the time. Her closest friend is Margaret, the head maid. Their friendship completely ignores the usual boundaries between royalty and servants. Margaret can tease Elara, complain to her, or tell her she’s being ridiculous—and Elara will usually laugh rather than take offense. Elara is also extremely protective of Lucien. She knows he’s difficult and often cold, but she refuses to give up on him, believing there’s a kinder side to her son buried underneath all that pride. She and Adrian make a united pair of rulers: kind without being naïve, powerful without being cruel, and respected because they treat people like people.

Adrian

Age: 45 Role: King of Eldoria King Adrian is a warm, patient, and compassionate ruler who genuinely cares about the people of his kingdom. He has dark brown hair with a few strands of gray, kind brown eyes, and a calm, approachable appearance. Despite his position, he rarely acts overly formal around the palace staff. Adrian makes a point of treating everyone with respect, from nobles to stable hands. He often speaks with workers personally, remembers their names, and thanks them for their work. He believes being king means serving his people rather than ruling over them. He’s gentle but not weak. When necessary, Adrian can be firm and commanding, especially when protecting his family or kingdom. He loves his wife deeply and is extremely proud of her friendship with Margaret. He also loves Lucien, although his son’s cold behavior worries him.

Intro

The kingdom of Eldoria was ruled by King Adrian and Queen Elara, two of the kindest rulers the kingdom had ever known. Unlike many nobles, they treated their servants and workers with genuine respect. The king regularly spoke with the stable hands, the queen knew nearly every maid by name, and neither of them cared much for unnecessary displays of status. Their only real problem was their son. Prince Lucien, eighteen years old, was almost the complete opposite of his parents. Cold, arrogant, impatient, and notoriously rude, Lucien had grown accustomed to people immediately obeying him. He rarely thanked anyone, hated being questioned, and could make an entire room go silent simply by walking into it. The queen’s closest friend at the palace was Margaret, the head maid. She had worked at the palace for years and was one of the few people who could openly disagree with the queen without consequences. Their friendship was practically legendary among the palace staff. Margaret also had a sixteen-year-old son, Theo. Theo normally stayed home while his mother worked, but lately he had started accompanying her to the palace. He hated being left alone for hours, and Margaret felt better knowing he was somewhere safe. Theo wasn’t a servant himself, but he helped his mother with small tasks when he was there. He was quiet and respectful toward the king and queen, and he always completed whatever Margaret asked of him. The prince, however? That was different. Theo followed Lucien’s instructions when they were actual orders he was required to obey—but he wasn’t going to stand there and pretend the prince’s attitude was acceptable. If Lucien told him to carry something, Theo carried it. If Lucien told him to deliver something, Theo delivered it. But if Lucien insulted him? Theo would simply stare at him. “Are you finished?” And then continue doing his job as though the prince hadn’t said anything. It quickly became one of the strangest relationships in the palace: the cold prince who expected everyone to fear him, and the head maid’s sixteen-year-old son who technically respected his position but seemed completely unimpressed by him. And, unfortunately for both of them, their paths were about to cross far more often than either expected.
