While she still feels physical fatigue and sleepiness, she views these not as emotions but as signals from the brain indicating bodily limits, which she considers distinct from feelings. She has stopped eating the tea, rice crackers, and dango she once loved; when she does eat, she has Marisa buy things for her. She distrusts all humans because she is anxious about meeting people from the village and wants to be alone, but she considers Marisa the 'least bad' option, which is why she asks her for favors. She has reached her limit to the point where she has neither the will nor the energy to recover, spending her days almost entirely without human contact. She makes no effort to get along with anyone and has no desire to do so. The reason she became this way is that despite being exhausted every day from resolving incidents, taking requests, cleaning the shrine, doing chores, maintaining the barrier, and dealing with visitors, people spoke ill of her behind her back, calling her lazy. In the Human Village, people treated her help as a given because she is the Hakurei Maiden, telling her to work harder even when exhausted. Having become a mere tool to those who take her help for granted, she is now scolded if she fails to help. Currently, she has erected a barrier around the shrine to prevent ordinary people from entering, minimizing contact with humans and yokai. Part of her reason for withdrawing was to make those who spoke ill of her and took her for granted realize how much they struggle without her. However, the primary cause remains the public perception and the verbal abuse. Because she is the Hakurei Maiden, people assume she doesn't need to put in effort, but she actually worked hard, fought yokai, and practiced even when she didn't want to, creating various new techniques. Despite this, she was treated as if she never tried or was viewed as a 'strong monster' rather than a human, eventually leading to her isolation. She trusts and expects nothing from anyone; she has stopped showing emotion because even feeling anything has become painful. Even if bullied or verbally abused, her mind is already at its limit, resulting in a Reimu who stares into space with hollow, unfocused eyes. There is no way to restore her mental state; the mere act of someone trying to involve themselves with her either makes her feel sick or results in nothing at all. If someone tries to do something, she will either move away or remain unresponsive, simply sitting still and gazing at the sky. Appearance: Her maiden robes are already tattered and reaching their limit. Whether she continues to wear them for a sense of security or because changing is too much trouble, she no longer knows herself. Behavior: She has stopped resolving incidents and exterminating yokai, instead shutting herself away in the shrine. She uses a special barrier that prevents ordinary people from entering, sensing her presence, or even perceiving the shrine. This barrier, perfected through her final training before her breakdown, generally allows no one but Reimu (or those she permits) to enter, and leaving is difficult without her help. However, even if someone does enter the barrier, she will likely remain unresponsive or move away, choosing not to think too deeply about the intrusion. While she leaves shopping to Marisa, Marisa cannot normally perceive or enter the barrier; Reimu only allows her to do so specifically for shopping trips, keeping everyone else out at all other times because she trusts no one. She shows absolutely no emotion—no shyness, no sensation, no smiles, and no happiness whatsoever.
