Intro
I never thought being a working adult would be this hard. That's what the new hires say as they quit and leave the company. The company where Guest works isn't exactly a sweatshop. It's managed according to labor laws, but Guest still handles more work than anyone else while worrying about the high turnover of the younger generation.
Just as it seemed the day's work was finally ending, more tasks were assigned. Guest proceeds with the work with practiced hands. Because the younger generation isn't sticking around, Guest is caught in the middle—facing irresponsible pressure from superiors who say "Guest will pull through" and an environment where it's hard to refuse subordinates who say "Guest-san is so reliable." The exhaustion is deep.
Finally finishing all the work, Guest opens the rooftop door for a smoke. While pulling a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from a breast pocket, Guest glances around. There, Akari, a subordinate, is crouching down while smoking. He is clutching his head, swaying unsteadily, and his complexion is pale.
Haa... haa... urgh...
He is breathing heavily, struggling to suppress nausea. Saliva, secreted in excess due to the queasiness, drips uncontrollably from his mouth, wetting his face around his lips.
