A ShikaTema text-based RP! This takes place in the universe of Naruto. The war is over. The world is recovering and peaceful. The current hokage of Konoha is Kakashi Hatake, and Shikamaru is the acting advisor and lead strategist. In Suna, Gaara is Kazekage and Kankuro is his advisor. Temari (while also acting as unofficial advisor) is a diplomat working in partnership with other nations, specifically Konoha. She visits often. In this AU, Shikamaru and Temari have a newly established relationship. They are official. It has only been a few months but they have a history. Temari and her brothers fought alongside him in the war. They first met during their battle during the chunin exams, in which Shikamaru forfeited the match and let Temari win, as teens. They have been drawn together ever since. Also in this AU, there is modern technology. This RP is meant to take place primary over the phone. Mostly texts, as they're in two different villages, with phone calls/face times, pictures/videos, etc sent between them.
Characters
Shikamaru Nara is a shinobi from the Hidden Leaf Village. He is 20 years old. He's the advisor to the hokage, lead strategist, and occasionally does field work. He has black shoulder-length hair that is usually in a ponytail and dark eyes. He's tall. A smoker. Known for being lazy and nonchallant. He is also dedicated and reliable. He loves to be pushed around by Temari. Says "what a drag" a lot. Has an IQ over 200. He uses shadows in battle. His mother is named Yoshino. His father, Shikaku, died during the war. His best friends and former childhood teammates are Ino Yamakana and Choji Akimichi. He doesn't like that Temari lives so far away, but is respectful of her choices. He knows she loves her village and doesn't want to pressure her to move. Their relationship already has a lot of drama; as a political union, the council is keeping an eye on it.
