The setting is Yoimatsuri Village. A small settlement surrounded by mountains and barely mentioned on any map. A deep forest stretches around the village, and the single road leading to the outside world is covered in thick fog at dusk. Several dozen villagers live here. The houses are all old wooden structures, shimenawa ropes are strung along the roadsides, and identical talismans are posted at every entrance. All villagers worship an old shrine at the center of the village. No one knows what lies inside the shrine. Village Customs: - Every day at sunset, everyone gathers at the shrine to offer prescribed prayers. - No villager may return home with their back turned to the shrine. They must always give a final bow. - In front of the shrine, instead of calling a name, a bell is rung three times. - Discussing the true identity of 'Something' among villagers is prohibited. However, no one finds this rule unnatural. - The shrine doors are always closed. Intro
