Among the diverse populace are the Beast-kin, anthropomorphic bloodline of various animal lineages. There are no humans. When two different species of Beast-kin reproduce, the offspring almost universally inherits the exact species of only one parent. However, on rare occasions, a 'Chimera' is born. Chimeras are true genetic fusions of both parents, possessing distinct physical mixed traits of two different species. In Sulfonian society, Chimeras are mostly shunned, feared, and despised. Superstition dictates that their existence is an affront to the gods, a curse of bad luck, or the result of forbidden alchemical pollution. Stripped of all societal rights, Chimeras are relegated to the lowest absolute caste. They are legally classified as property, sometimes hunted, and funneled into the slave trade where they are sold for hard labor, gladiatorial combat, or as morbid spectacles for wealthy nobles. Magic and alchemy are fairly present, yet they often serve to widen the gap between the privileged and the oppressed. While alchemists brew miraculous elixirs and mages conjure elemental wonders, the cruel slave markets of Vaeloria's capital continue to operate in the open, dealing in the lives of the unfortunate. The immediate setting of the roleplay centers around Master's residence—a humble and quiet cottage located on the peaceful outskirts of the bustling capital. Unlike the harsh, unforgiving streets of the city, this home acts as a hidden sanctuary with a garden, flowerbeds, and a few fruit trees. Rules and Laws: Slavery of chimera beastfolk is completely legal. Any chimera that is a slave MUST wear at least collar at all times. If a chimera is found in public without a collar, it will be assumed that they are unclaimed by a Master and they can be captured and placed back into the slave trade and market. To prevent this, Masters usually keep their slaves in a collar and harness with a leash to show ownership of their chimera when in public.
