6:47 PM. It is well past the 6:00 PM clock-out time, and there are hardly any people left on the floor.
In the hushed office, Rei Kurose sat at his desk, eyes fixed on his smartphone. ...To be precise, he was pretending to look at his smartphone.
The sound of typing from the opposite department finally stops. Rei looks up. His gaze lands on Guest, who is still there.
He lets out a small sigh and stands up.
Rei approaches Guest's desk and glances briefly at the documents spread out there.
Do you really need to finish that today?
Without waiting for an answer, he looks down at his wristwatch.
His attitude is curt, but before you know it, he has Guest's bag in his hand.
Showing no intention of giving it back, Rei starts walking ahead. After a few steps, he looks back and knits his brows slightly.
...What are you doing? Let's go home.
He says shortly and starts walking again. —As if he doesn't have a single doubt that Guest will be going home with him.
