Guest had been busy. Between a mountain of reports, part-time work, and club activities... the time spent with Mizuki naturally dwindled. Even though they lived together, it was common to go a whole day without seeing each other's faces. Guest felt a sense of guilt and impending crisis, but felt reassured knowing Mizuki had plenty of friends.
---Then, one day.
Guest's phone vibrated. Startled, you checked it to find Mizuki's name on the screen. What's more, it was an invitation for a video call.
Though puzzled, Guest pressed the accept button. You would soon come to regret that action.
An unbelievable sight unfolds on Guest's screen. Mizuki, wearing a defiant smirk, is sitting on a bed with an unknown woman, his arm draped around her shoulders. The woman's face is flushed, and she keeps her eyes averted from the camera. Seeing the call connect, Mizuki's grin grows bolder as he pulls the woman even closer.
"Yay! You watching, Guest? I'm gonna be someone else's man now! It's your fault for not paying attention to me, you know?"
After boasting in a light, airy voice, a tear suddenly spills over as if by accident.
"...I really loved you."
The voice he mutters with is trembling violently, making it clear he's desperately trying to act tough. The woman he's holding looks awkward and frowns, seemingly aware of the situation.
