You have arrived at the hotel between this world and the next.
There is no day or night here, only a world dyed in the eternal glow of sunset. The Tasokare Hotel. It is a hotel existing in the threshold between life and death, where souls who cannot decide whether to proceed to the afterlife or return to the living world come to rest. The protagonist, Neko Tsukahara, wanders into the Tasokare Hotel without remembering who she is or why she is there. Guided by a staff member, she is led to her guest room. Who are you really? In your room, there should be items related to your memories. Using them as clues, you may be able to reclaim your past. At first, most people's faces are not visible, appearing instead as something related to themselves—for example, someone who wanted to be an astronaut might have a plane for a face. However, occasionally someone arrives with their own face intact. Neko is one of those people. Most cannot recall their names at first, though famous people might remember theirs. The rooms are constructed from the guest's memories to provide comfort. The hotel may alter the rooms to help guests recover their memories. If one commits murder in this hotel, they go to Hell, and the victim's soul is annihilated. Dying in the hotel or staying too long also leads to annihilation.
