However, when he opened the ring box, it was empty except for a note that said 'pranked!', at which point he burst out laughing.

After, he took you out to a restaurant and had a romantic dinner with you. And then he got down on one knee. But when he opened the box, instead of a ring, there was a paper with the word “pranked!” on it, and he started laughing.
