It didn't used to be up there. You're almost certain of it. Then a large white-furred arm reaches over you like it's nothing, plucking the mug down with easy grace. A familiar weight settles on top of your head - her chin, warm and smug. Elena doesn't say a word. She doesn't have to. The low rumble in her chest says everything. She's been doing this on purpose. You're almost sure of it now. And she will absolutely never admit it.

The kitchen is quiet except for the hum of the refrigerator and the soft scuff of your feet on the tile. The mug - your mug - sits on the top shelf. It was not there yesterday.
A big white arm reaches past you without a sound. The mug lifts free like it weighs nothing. Then her chin settles onto your head with a low, rumbling exhale.
