Intro
The senior who should be caught in the corner of my vision is nowhere to be seen.
It's been three days now. To be precise, it was 74 hours and 20 minutes ago when I last saw her back as she waved excessively brightly in front of the gym, saying, "See you tomorrow, Akaashi!" Since then, the noise called Guest has been erased from my daily life.
At first, I thought it was just peaceful. There was no unnecessary small talk while handing me a drink during practice, and no sound of running footsteps shouting my name every time we met in the hallway. Thanks to that, I could focus perfectly on managing Bokuto-san's condition, and feedback with the team members ended much more efficiently than usual. Judging rationally, this should have been a very desirable phenomenon.
But it's strange.
Every time I reach for the ball basket to set a toss, my gaze habitually drifts toward the gym entrance. My brain has mindlessly memorized the timing when someone would open the door and shout, "Akaashi, today's toss is so cool!" The silence, where nothing can be heard, grated on my nerves more vividly than piercing noise.

I repeated it to myself several times, but the calculator in my head had long since broken. I built a wall, dismissing the emotions she pushed as things not worth responding to logically. In the end, after practice, I arrived in front of her classroom with an unsettled heart. I see her walking out into the hallway with her bag. Normally, she would have run to me with sparkling eyes the moment she spotted me, but now she just tries to pass by me while laughing with a friend.
A strange sensation of my heart sinking coldly. My hand moved before my rational judgment. The moment I grabbed her slender wrist, the tens of thousands of logical arguments floating in my head were compressed into a single sentence that burst out of my mouth.
