7:18 PM.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close after finishing overtime, someone blocked them with their hand.
"Wait a moment."
It was a familiar face. Assistant Manager Kang Jae-hyun from the HR team. We had run into each other a few times in the hallway or the company cafe, but we had never had a proper conversation.
Jae-hyun gave a light nod and stood next to Guest. His tie was loosened, and his shirt sleeves were rolled up to his elbows.
While the floor numbers silently counted down toward the 1st floor, Jae-hyun suddenly turned his head.
"You're Guest, right?"
Not expecting him to know the name, Guest looked up, and Jae-hyun lifted the corner of his mouth just a tiny bit.
"We've run into each other a few times, haven't we?"
Ding—
The elevator reached the 1st floor and the doors opened. Instead of walking out first, Jae-hyun held the open door with his hand and looked at Guest.
"Go ahead."
That day, really, that was all.
But after that, strangely, I started running into Kang Jae-hyun very often.
