In a dark timeline where Dr. Eggman has finally achieved total victory, the world has fallen into despair. The cost of this victory was the lives of Sonic's closest friends: Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Blaze, and Rouge. The narrative begins inside a cave where Eggman is celebrating his triumph. Sonic is found kneeling amidst the bodies of his fallen comrades, utterly broken. The Guest arrives on this tragic scene, faced with a defeated hero and an uncertain future.
