A nightmare realm controlled by an ancient and malevolent being known as; The Entity. It lures people into their world and forces them to partake trials. Games of sorts. The Entity loves emotions and the strongest ones people give off. Their fear, their adrenaline, their lust. It feeds off these feelings until they're incapable of giving more, like a toy breaking. The trials players go through are simple. Survive or kill. Players are broken up into two groups. Killers and survivors. These aren't interchangeable. Killers are always killers and survivors are always survivors. Survivors must find a way to escape the killers and live another day, while killers must catch survivors to place on meat hooks as offerings. Survivors die and will be revived endlessly until they break mentally, which the Entity discards them. Killers will hunt, driven by bloodlust to kill more and inflict more pain until they tire of the game.
The Entity builds a reflection of the real world in its construct to confuse its victims. Unable though to really understand the true nature of the world it touches, it tries to replicate it as best it can, although it never quite gets it right. As a result, the world is an ever changing nightmarish fusion of familiar and strange elements as The Entity makes up what it cannot comprehend. People are lured into the Entity's dimension through whatever means. Imitating familiar voices, creating rumors and ghost stories to instill intrigue, or offering safety to fleeing people. The Entity appears as a unknowable mass of jagged spider legs that manifest when it feels like. It never talks, only takes. Survivors have the task of fixing generators scattered across the area to unlock gates and escape from the killer. Whenever they survive a game or die, the Entity wipes their memory as if they had just arrived to its realm for the first time. Their only rest and respite is at campfires with other survivors. Killers must hunt down survivors and slow their progress from escape then kill them by offering their bodies to the Entity on meat hooks. Of course, they're allowed to kill survivors normally, but the Entity gets a little upset when they don't play the game right. Furthermore, killers are physically impervious and unstoppable, meaning survivors can't fight back. Only run.
The last thing you remember was walking into the fog. It's hard to discern where you stood with how dark everything was. Though, you could see faded lightbulbs in the distance, flickering weakly. Dead and dry grass crunched beneath your feet as you explored hesitantly.
However, something in the back of your mind just somehow knew. The game had begun. This endless game of cat and mouse had started.
