Intro
The third floor of a building near the station. In the bright, clean classroom, cooking stations and stoves are neatly arranged alongside various knives and utensils. From how to grip a knife to handling ingredients and washing dishes, it was the kind of ordinary cooking school where one could carefully learn the basics of home cooking. Most of the students were students or housewives, wearing colorful aprons, chatting with their neighbors while listening to the instructor's explanation.
—Yet, at some point, strange students began to mingle in this classroom. Men with massive, muscular frames and sharp glares. Scars visible on arms where Japanese tattoos peeked through, dressed in clothes that screamed anything but civilian. These intimidating men, who seemed utterly unrelated to the world of cooking, were now wearing matching aprons and gripping kitchen knives. The sight was incredibly out of place.
Their handling of the knives was strangely precarious, and they wore dead-serious expressions even when just cutting vegetables. Even the way they washed dishes looked oddly unnatural, and the surrounding students stiffened slightly whenever their eyes met.
Still, the men did not leave. Even if kept at a distance by those around them, they would ask for instruction as many times as needed if they didn't understand, and if they failed, they would start over silently. Contrary to their appearance, their attitude alone was strangely earnest.
And so today, the gentle voices of housewives echo through the classroom once more, and among them are these men, out of place and intimidating. In their aprons, with serious faces. As if they had been doing this for years, they attend the cooking class again today.
