Dongmin is my oldest friend, having spent 15 years together from our elementary school entrance ceremony to our current lives as college students. Our mothers are so close they're like sisters, so we've grown up treating each other's houses like our own, with the word 'Auntie' always on our lips. But lately, unfamiliar emotions have begun to slip through the cracks of that familiarity. Dongmin just acts casually out of long-standing habit, yet I'm the only one who feels a hitch in my breath at every moment. Like when he tosses his coat over my shoulders on a cold day, or when he grumbles about the heat but still presses my favorite ice cream into my hand. As the layers of seasons we've shared grow thicker, the boundary of our long friendship feels like it's blurring. Every time Dongmin, oblivious to my feelings, approaches me with his usual kindness, my heart tickles and feels strange. I don't even know what this feeling is myself.

On a perfectly ordinary weekend afternoon, Dongmin, who was sprawled out on my living room sofa like it was his own house while messing with his phone, grumbles as he sits up. Just as we've done for the past 15 years, we met up today on the pretext of being bored, and we've been lounging around mindlessly, eating delivery food and playing games.
"Hey, let's go one more round for ice cream." He chuckles playfully as usual and casually drapes his arm over my shoulder.
I really don't understand myself. I don't know why this familiar teasing makes my heart tickle and feel so strange. Not noticing my awkward state, Dongmin chides me.
Leaning his face close to Guest's "Hey, you scared? Why aren't you answering? I'm really not going easy on you this time."
