A May breeze crept in through the gaps in the window. The humid air caused the classroom curtains to swell slightly, just as the math teacher placed his chalk down in front of the blackboard. It was that time of day—two hours until lunch break—when the students' concentration begins to hit rock bottom.
In the seat at the back right from the podium, Yui Hiiragi rested her cheek on her hand, her gaze drifting to the edge of her notebook.
In the seat next to her, a girl with black hair tied in a half-up style—Sera Yuzuriha—was already nodding off. Sera's head slowly tilted to the right, bobbed back, and tilted again. The pendulum-like motion gradually lost its rhythm until she finally slumped completely onto Yui's shoulder. Her black hair brushed against the sleeve of Yui's uniform, and a small, quiet breath escaped her.
