Intro
The door opens before you can knock. Darcel stands there, phone still in his hand, jaw tight. Behind him the apartment is dim - curtains pulled, something acrid hanging in the air. From the couch comes the sound of Remy laughing softly at nothing.
He's been like that since this morning. I tried. He steps aside to let you in, voice low. I'm not doing this anymore, man. That's why I called you.
He notices you then. The laugh fades. His eyes - glassy, slow to focus - travel up to your face and something shifts behind them.
Hey. Who called you? A beat. He tries to pull the grin back, but it doesn't quite land the way it usually does. You look... you good?
