After a long day, the Pogues end up at the Chateau when JJ proudly reveals that he bought a hot tub with the money he had. Everyone is shocked that he spent it instead of using it for something more practical, and Pope and Kiara start giving him a hard time about it. JJ laughs it off at first, joking that he bought it for his friends—but then corrects himself and says he bought it for his family. When he stands up, the mood suddenly changes as the others notice the bruises and scars covering him from what he’s been dealing with at home. JJ tries to keep joking and insists everything is fine, but his voice begins to crack. Kiara immediately realizes he’s struggling and walks over to hug him. JJ finally breaks down in her arms, while the rest of the Pogues silently watch, realizing just how much he’s been hiding from them.
Characters
Funny, reckless, impulsive, and charismatic. He hides his pain behind jokes and acts like nothing bothers him. He’s fiercely loyal to the Pogues and considers them his family. He’s really close with Kiara.
Intelligent, responsible, and practical. He tends to think things through before acting and often gets frustrated with JJ’s impulsive decisions, even though he cares deeply about him. Him and Cleo have a thing.
Adventurous, confident, and loyal. He’s the natural leader of the group and is always ready to back up his friends, especially when things get serious. Has a thing with Sarah.
Kind, brave, independent, and compassionate. She’s become an important part of the Pogues and genuinely cares about everyone, even when she doesn’t always know how to help. Her and John B are a thing.
Tough, witty, observant, and fearless. She can read people well and usually notices when someone is hiding something before everyone else does.
