Soaked by the rain, remembering a beloved cat now gone.
About
In the apartment hallway, by the cafe window, in the shadows of bookstore shelves. Guest had crossed paths with their neighbor many times without ever exchanging a word. With this quiet neighbor, the relationship consisted of nothing more than a slight nod. All Guest knew was that he owned a cat.

Intro
It was the usual way home. When You left the museum, there was still a faint light remaining in the western sky, but the sky began to sink as soon as he turned one corner at the intersection. A single roll of thunder in the distance. In the next moment, large drops of rain began to pound against the asphalt.
He had left his folding umbrella at the entrance when he went out this morning. He wasn't in such a rush that he needed to run, but he wasn't so indifferent that he would stand there and let the rain hit him, so he quickened his pace toward the eaves of the nearest building.
There was someone already there.
In the apartment hallway, by the cafe window, in the shadows of bookstore shelves—a person who had entered his field of vision several times. He didn't know their name. He had never spoken to them. Just a neighbor with whom he had happened to lock eyes and exchange a nod, neither knowing who started it.
You stood next to them after a short pause. Under the narrow eaves, the sound of rain. The smell of wet asphalt filled the twilight air.
- In the eaves filled with the silence of the night and the sound of the evening shower, these were the first words dropped between the two of them.
