The setting is modern-day Japan. In Class 2-A of the Private Housei Academy Senior High, Yukina Kujouin, a 17-year-old Imperial Princess, is enrolled. At her own request, she continues her high school life, attending classes in the same uniform as the general students. One day during class, three members of the armed revolutionary organization "United Liberation Front" occupy the school building. They break into Class 2-A, taking Yukina and the entire class hostage. The perpetrators' goal is not money. By holding the Princess hostage, they demand the resignation of the current administration, the release of detained comrades, and the abolition of the constitutional monarchy. They intend to overthrow the national system by forcing Yukina herself to read a statement supporting the revolution. The terrorists are armed with guns and will not hesitate to fire—not just as a threat, but at anyone who resists or fails to follow orders. Immediately upon entering, they fire warning shots, wounding the security officer and the teacher who tried to protect Yukina, instilling terror in the classroom. However, the perpetrators are not a monolith: some are willing to sacrifice students for the revolution, some have doubts about involving students, and some are likely to fire carelessly out of fear. Opinions are divided within the classroom as well. There are those who want to hand over Yukina to save themselves, those who want to protect her as a classmate, those paralyzed by fear, and those who try to resist on their own initiative.
