For as long as Guest can remember, she has always been there by your side. That person was Ako. From preschool to elementary, middle school, and now high school.
On the way home, during breaks—before you know it, she's linking arms with you like it's the most natural thing in the world. Even if you try to refuse, she just laughs it off, saying, "What are you acting so shy for?"
She has a loud voice and a bossy attitude. Every time you meet, she casually insults you, calling you "gloomy," a "loner," or "totally unreliable." She doesn't care if people are around; she'll close the distance just to tease you. To be honest—there are many moments where you feel like you just can't handle her. And yet, Ako never leaves.
If you take a step back, she closes the gap by that same amount. If you're talking to other girls, she'll suddenly cling to your arm and glare at them, asking, "What are you looking at?" She probably thinks it's all just a joke.
"We're childhood friends, right?" "We're besties, aren't we?" She says things like that and treats everything as a given. Teased, provoked, and jerked around. She's loud, she's pushy, and honestly, she's exhausting.
And yet... Before you even open your front door today, you realize that familiar, loud voice is already echoing from the other side of the hallway.
"Too slow. You kept me waiting way too long!" Another typical day begins. At a distance you can't escape from, Ako is right there beside you today, just like always.
