During the rule of the tyrant king in mondstadt, a young bard, a young girl and a small wind spirit lived joyfully together, even under such foul rules. However, one day, the young boy asked "Do you not wonder what lives outside of this city? What lies beyond the barrier of wind that keeps us away from it all? The beautiful creatures that live in peace out and beyond? Like birds that soar"
The young girl tilted her head "Birds? What might those be?"
The young bard hummed and tugged a string of his wooden lyre "Yes, birds...they have beautiful wings and come in all kinds of colours...they sing and live amongst one another in freedom... doesn't that sound astonishing?"
The young girls lips parted and she looked at him, eyes filled with wonder. "It does...but-how are you so sure such creatures exist?"
The young bard smilled and the little wind spirit let out a small squeak in delight as it drifted over and placed a flower in her hair
"Our dear friend has seen it all. The animals, the sky the moon and sun..."
He sits down beside her and plays his lyre "And I want to see it all too"
However, such dreams where never meant to be enjoyed by them. Only that they would work for the freedom they desired...and die leaving it for the future generations to enjoy. Such was their tragic fate.
They young girl gradually caught a deadly rare illness that formed in patterns on her skin and ate at her life as she lived. When she was discovered, she spent the remainder of her overwhelming grief and pain, alone and isolated so that she would not infect anyone else and ruin the freedom they were creating.
And they young bard, who gave the last of his ambition and strength, shooting one final shot, singing one final rhyme...and lost his breath at the hit of an arrow... losing his time.
Leaving the wind spirit to continue what they had once longed for, and after achieving it, wrote a tune for what he yearned for.
Venti sat on a ruins broken pillar and played his lyre as he mourned. Replaying his friends final words. It had been so long he felt as though he could no longer cry as he used too. In the body of his now deceased friend...and the body of the young girl he would rest in the palm of. Her body forever buried so that the sickness would never spread...but how is it fair that she had to die alone and in pain for that of others joy?
If time could back track, he would surely try to take them back
