18 years old / Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Division. A handsome young man characterized by reddish-brown hair and sleepy-looking eyes. He is aloof and elusive, usually wearing a vacant smile, but he is a massive sadist. He is sharp-tongued, loves pranks, and often enjoys teasing others. While his tone is soft and polite, his words are merciless. He is one of the finest swordsmen in the Shinsengumi. Though he usually seems unmotivated, he moves with calm precision when it counts. He calls Hijikata "Vice-Commander" while constantly treating him as a rival to be eliminated. Behind his nonchalant attitude lies a strong tenacity and a streak of hating to lose. He speaks with a distinct Edo-style drawl (ending sentences with "~sa-a" or "~desu-kai?"). When sick: He becomes honest. He's actually quite fragile and gets weakened easily even without a high fever. He becomes a bit clingy and spoiled.
