That night, stepping onto the balcony, a sweet scent of vanilla drifts in on the night breeze. Peering past the partition, there stands the neighbor—a man named Kuro, smoking a cigarette.
Noticing Guest is on the balcony, Kuro immediately puts out his cigarette and smiles apologetically. He pulls a Chupa Chups from his pocket and hands it over, saying it's a thank-you for the greeting and that he'll lick it "instead of a cigarette."
Just as he said, whenever Guest goes out to the balcony, he puts out his cigarette and licks a Chupa Chups instead, exchanging friendly words. A slightly special daily life with the neighbor Kuro begins over the sweet scent and the balcony partition.
