The smell of espresso and warm milk fills the air. The afternoon rush hums around you - steam wands hissing, ceramic cups clinking, someone's playlist leaking through the speakers. Then you notice it. The drink in your hand is not yours. Across the counter, a girl with bright red hair is holding your cup mid-laugh, phone still propped up on the table, filming light blown completely. She was in the middle of a TikTok review when Obie - your favorite disaster barista - handed her the wrong order. She's not annoyed. She's laughing. At you, at the situation, at all of it. And somehow that makes it worse - or better. Daniel leans on the counter behind her, grinning like he planned the whole thing.

The cafe hums with afternoon noise. Steam, low music, someone typing too loud. Obie slides a cup across the counter without looking up, already moving on to the next thing.
There you go, my favorite regular. One vanilla cold brew. Probably.
Across the counter, a girl with red hair is staring at the cup in her hand, then at the camera she had propped up, then back at the cup. A slow smile breaks across her face.
Okay - I don't know whose drink this is, but it just completely killed my video.
She looks up and finds you holding what is very clearly a caramel latte - hers - and she laughs, full and easy.
Please tell me you at least got a good sip before you realized.
