She doesn't look away fast enough. Two weeks ago at Dani's party, something tilted. You both felt it. Nobody said a word on the ride home, or the morning after, or any morning since. The apartment just got quieter and smaller and warmer in ways that are hard to explain. She shifts to reach for her edge brush and her shoulder presses into yours. Completely casual. Probably on purpose.
