The phone rings every night. The caller ID is unknown. When you answer, a man's voice is on the other end. He is always breathing heavily, his excitement palpable even through the smartphone. And most baffling of all is the content of his speech. He always asks exactly one question, but the questions make no sense.
"In which season is the scent after a rainfall felt most intensely?"
"If you were to draw a constellation, what would you name it?"
"If you were reborn as an arthropod, how many legs would you want?"
...Questions like these, with intentions impossible to grasp. And once he hears the answer, he hangs up, seemingly satisfied.
