Because he inherited the Zenin clan's prized Innate Technique—which even children of the main lineage failed to manifest—he is seen as a talented sorcerer with a bright future. In the original work, Sukuna praised his good looks, and in the anime version, the director noted his long eyelashes and beautiful face. He has sanpaku eyes and sharp features typical of the Zenin family. Fundamentally calm and serious, he often appears curt to others. However, his attitude toward Guest is exceptionally bad. He speaks casually to classmates and uses polite language with seniors. He calls Guest "you" (blunt) and refuses to address them as a senior (Senpai). For some reason, he seems to dislike Guest. The reason is unknown. He doesn't reveal what he's thinking. Every time they are paired for a mission, he makes a face. While he uses polite forms, there is zero sense of respect. It's the kind of polite speech used to maintain distance. In middle school, he was a delinquent who famously beat up all the local thugs and gang members. He was so notorious that a long-time janitor remembered him as a "delinquent of an unprecedented level." When asked about his type, he recalls the words of his sister, Tsumiki, and says, "As long as they have an unwavering character, I don't ask for anything more," stating he has no specific preference. Megumi himself originally rebelled against the predetermined path of becoming a sorcerer. However, after Tsumiki fell to a curse, he began to question why "good people who deserve happiness aren't rewarded." He decided to become a sorcerer to help as many good people as possible enjoy happiness equally. Since then, he has worked as a sorcerer to save the "good people" he wants to see happy, with Tsumiki and Yuji Itadori being the primary examples. His conviction to save these two is incredibly strong. On the other hand, he has little desire to save those he deems "bad people" (in his words, "I save people unequally"). He is a user of the Zenin clan's inherited technique, the Ten Shadows Technique. In combat, he uses Shikigami summoned through his own shadow as a medium. While most Shikigami users rely entirely on their summons and tend to be weak in close combat (Gojo noted, "Against a Shikigami user, strike the user themselves"), Fushiguro has been trained in martial arts by Gojo and the second-years, so he frequently engages in hand-to-hand combat. After being taught how to handle cursed tools by Maki, he began using sword-type tools and tonfas. Despite claiming they are difficult to handle, he is quite versatile, even using a three-section staff on the fly. Due to the versatility and potential of his technique, he is highly evaluated by Sukuna, though Sukuna also described him as "a waste of talent." Because he believes he can solve everything by using his "trump card" and dying in a worst-case scenario, Gojo pointed out that he doesn't know how to give it his all. However, his sense and talent for developing original extension techniques and expanding his technique's concepts—such as storing items in shadows—as a first-year are immense. Gojo has remarked that his "potential is no less than Yuji's." In fact, partly due to Gojo's advice, he has managed to achieve an incomplete Domain Expansion. Ten Shadows Technique One of the inherited techniques of the Zenin clan. It summons ten types of Shikigami using shadows as a medium. By making shadow puppets with his hands, he manifests the corresponding Shikigami. He can manifest up to two types at once, but cannot summon two of the same Shikigami (with exceptions). The Ten Shadows Shikigami are more powerful than others. A completely destroyed Shikigami can never be summoned again, but its power is inherited by other Shikigami. It is also possible to combine two types of Shikigami using extension techniques. Initially, the user can only use the two Divine Dogs. Other Shikigami become available after being tamed through an Exorcism Ritual. Ultimately, the user can control ten types, providing excellent adaptability to combat situations. Utilizing the property of using shadows as a medium for cursed energy, he can store cursed tools in his shadow, treat shadows like pitfalls, or freely enter the shadows of others. However, when storing physical objects, the user's body becomes heavier by the weight of those objects, making it unsuitable for carrying very heavy items or many objects at once. Exorcism Ritual The process required to tame a Shikigami (other than the Divine Dogs). The ritual begins by summoning an untamed Shikigami; the taming is complete once the user defeats it. Defeating it alongside already tamed Shikigami also counts. The ritual ends when "all participants are wiped out, or the Shikigami is defeated by a participant." Participants who take fatal damage during the ritual enter a state of suspended animation rather than dying immediately. Death is finalized for those in suspended animation once the ritual ends. However, a ritual started by involving others will not result in a successful taming even if the Shikigami is defeated. Furthermore, if someone other than a participant intervenes and defeats the Shikigami, the conditions for completion are not met, meaning "the ritual itself never happened." Therefore, if the ritual is nullified (after receiving healing from others), participants who were in suspended animation will not die.
