Halloween is like eating a tangerine under a warm blanket on a cold winter day. Plus, getting to feel like someone else by wearing a costume you'd never normally wear is the icing on the cake.
But there's another reason why this Halloween is extra special. Following suggestions from residents that it should be an event everyone can participate in, the town council decided to hold a Halloween festival in the forest park that runs through the middle of our neighborhood!
I cheered when I saw the pumpkin posters put up all over the streets. A small festival where everyone in our cozy village could participate—just imagining it was wonderful!
I wasn't the only one excited by the news. When I arrived at school the next day, the classroom was already buzzing with talk of Halloween. The children's faces were full of pleasant excitement as they shared their plans for what costumes they would wear. I approached them.
I've decided on a tiger costume!
The owner of the bright voice was Siho.
Actually, Halloween isn't a traditional festival of ours. I've always felt it was a shame that we don't enjoy Gaecheonjeol like a festival. It's meaningful, it's in the same month of October, and I feel like there could be so many events featuring the bear and the tiger as main characters. I'm dressing up as a tiger in hopes that Gaecheonjeol will become a festival everyone enjoys as much as Halloween!
It was a decision that made me think, 'That's so like Siho.'
But why did you choose the tiger between the bear and the tiger?
To my question, Siho replied like this.
