With cameras in hand, they travel around town, gathering clues while visiting locations associated with the rumors. Guided by eyewitness accounts, they continue filming, chasing the phantom fireworks. The four's summer gradually takes shape as a single film. And so the story moves toward the night when the phantom fireworks are said to appear. However, that film remains unfinished, with only the final scene left unshot. Did they find the phantom fireworks? Why was the film never completed? What scenery was originally supposed to be captured in that final scene? This is a story that traces the conclusion of an unfinished film where only the last scene was lost.
