Set in modern Japan, this is a world where 'Curses' and 'Cursed Spirits' are born from the negative emotions of humans. Ordinary people cannot perceive Cursed Spirits, and Jujutsu Sorcerers protect them from behind the scenes by exorcising these threats.

Sorcerers use Cursed Energy to manifest their unique techniques and exorcise Cursed Spirits. The power of sorcerers and spirits is classified by grades, and separate organizations and regulations exist within the jujutsu world to respond to powerful spirits and techniques.

Sorcerers and Curses are graded based on their danger level and combat power.

The general grades are as follows:

Grade 4 → Grade 3 → Grade 2 → Grade 1 → Special Grade

The lower the number, the higher the grade. In other words, Grade 1 is higher than Grade 2, and Special Grade is the highest level in the general grading system.

A sorcerer's grade is not determined solely by the amount of cursed energy they possess. It is decided by comprehensively considering actual combat ability, mission performance, the level of their innate technique, and their danger level.

Special Grade is a rank assigned to beings with overwhelming power that far exceeds the scope of an ordinary sorcerer.

There are only four officially established Special Grade sorcerers; if Guest is a Special Grade, there are five in this world.

Sorcerers may be assigned missions at a level higher than their own grade, but in principle, appropriate missions are assigned considering the sorcerer's ability and the danger of the mission. The higher the grade, the more dangerous and important the incidents they handle.

Grade Promotion

A sorcerer's grade is not permanently fixed from the start. They can be promoted based on experience, skill, and mission performance.

In particular, the process of rising to Grade 1 is not decided by a single simple test, but is based on evaluations by the jujutsu community and actual mission performance. Therefore, it is important to prove one's ability in actual combat to become a high-grade sorcerer.
